All players know that, but the Pokémon GO game has already generated some... Disorders. Although it was usually just overcrowding in certain parks and other places of interest, this time Ni antic's production seems to have triggered a real fight that took a 75-year-old grandpa to prison .
An unusual fight
It all started in 2018 at Kirkwood Park in St Louis when Robert Materazzi (75) and his son Angelo Materazzi (35) started a fight over a dispute for the Pokémon GO game.
In fact, the park is a true place of interest, at least for the game players. One of the city's main gyms is there and father and son, true Pokémon GO addicts, often defend it with body and soul... Literally.
But while the two Materazzi were on their usual walk, what was their surprise when they realized that the gym was controlled by a team other than theirs, thanks to a user calledSammy the Bull.
But while tensions were only virtual, Angelo decided to attack the poor young woman... in real life. According to St. police reports. Louis, the attack on Materazzi's son began a real fight, which continued on the park's lake after the infamous Sammy and Angelo fell there.
But then, and Robert in all this? In fact, the middle-aged man did not hesitate to participate in the confrontation and jumped in the water to help his son hit the Pokémon GO user. Of course, he was not unharmed: uises, oken nails and, above all, a severe eye injury.
prison sentence for the 75-year-old man
In front of the police of St Louis, father and son tried to defend themselves as good as possible, while some people present in the park in question provided video evidence . Angelo had said that he just wanted to put his Pokémon in the gym, when he was seen clearly hitting the first blow.
As for Robert, he said he never wanted to be in the water, yet the witnesses saw him run to her without hesitation. Of course the police didn't believe the two Materazzi. But that's not all. Father and son would not be in their first fight for a Pokémon GO gym.
But while all this happened four years ago, the jury issued its sentence on Wednesday (26): A three-day prison sentence for Robert and a fine for the two men who started the fight.
