The world of Pokemon has been exist for a long time now and the brilliance has started to fade, then rather than presenting us a new region in a desperate attempt to find the magic of the past, Pokemon Legends: Arceus chose simply show us the past directly. This game will make the chronicle of the history of the Sinnoh region and will allow players to create the world's first pokedex, a task that will lead to the future of man-pokemon cohabitation illustrated in the main games.
In this new trailer, we had the opportunity to take a look at some of the sprawling environments that Sinnoh has to offer, including vibrant meadows, lush forests, shiny beaches and snow-capped mountains. Each of these views is animated by its inhabitants Pokémon, who walk and take care of their own business in the open world. The result is positively magical.
There is something really amazing to watch a flock of Ponyta Trotter through the meadows or a solitary guardserver for a moonlight walk. However, this trailer is not only dedicated to show the world of Pokemon, it also shows various ways that the player can interact with them.
The interactions range from standard Pokémon battles, which now include the location of the player's character, with the observation of Pokémon in their natural environment and their use as a means of transport. Not only do you finally have the chance to watch Pokemon go to his occupations, but this game allows you to ride, steal and surf with Pokemon.
All this seems excellent, but it is only the first half of the trailer, the wonderful half. The second half of the video shows what seems to be a meteor or lightning impact on the sinnoh landscape. All that fell from the sky, wrapped in radiant energy, seems to have a disastrous effect on the Pokémon.
In the rest of the video, a variety of intimidating Pokémon are shown with bright red eyes, entering threatening screens or even pursuing the protagonist throughout the open world and trying to attack it directly. Everything seems very Monster Hunter, although the escape mechanisms seem much more rationalized. This is perhaps the first time we see Pokemon attack the player directly in the game, and it really looks like an exciting struggle to escape.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus will be available on Nintendo Switch on January 28, 2022.
